The decline of Suicide Squad: Defeat the Justice League has been clear since its initial release, owing to its tepid reviews and lackluster sales. This is mirrored in its unsatisfactory post-launch updates, which have unfortunately taken another setback, albeit not a major one.
Rocksteady Studios, the game's creators, disclosed plans for a second wave of post-launch material for Suicide Squad. Originally scheduled for July 11, it was to include a variety of new features, including a novel playable character titled Mrs. Freeze, an alternative take on the renowned Batman adversary Mr. Freeze.
However, this has now been postponed by a fortnight. In a succinct Twitter statement, Rocksteady announced that the second wave of additional content for its open-world looter shooter game will now debut on July 25. No explanation was given for the postponement.
"Attention Task Force X members, we're adjusting the roll-out schedule for the upcoming season. Suicide Squad: Defeat the Justice League Season 2 is now slated for a July 25 release. We appreciate your understanding and patience," the game's creators stated.
Considering the title already needs fresh content, a delay in the release of a new season might not be the wisest decision, despite its minor nature. Season 2 does not appear destined to remedy the game's predicament.
Suicide Squad: Take Down the Justice League can be experienced on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, as well as on personal computers.
